Challenge #42-The Sky

Challenge #42

This week we'll do a *somewhat* simple challenge. Submit 1-3 images at the end of this week of creative images of the sky. These can be edited/tweaked,cropped in any way. Hope you have fun with this one!

This week I was actually inspired by a challenge that Erin Jo did back in July. (Check out her stars and stripes!) I loved her stars and decided that I wanted to be cool like her, so I put on my warm clothes, and my dear sweetheart drove me out to the country to get some shots of the stars.
Without further delay...here is my entry!

  1. very, very pretty! way to take a risk with the nighttime photos- beautiful job!
I would have to say that the last photo is my favorite- I am really drawn to the bright star in the sky, but the setting of the bridge as almost a gateway to the sky is just cool!

  2. Awww... what lovely photos! The last one conceptually is my favorite! I do wish that it was just a tad bit brighter on the bridge. I love how we can just barely see the colours in the grass and on the bridge.

The top image throws me off a little. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the bits of grass sticking out of the bottom. It looks a little like you were unsure about wether or not to include the grass. I think it would have worked to put a little more of the grass in this image. I'm intrigued by the fact that I can see the yellow of the grass.

For the second image I totally love the contrast of the sky and the stars! The darkness in the upper left hand corner does much to add some movement and interest to the image.

Glad to see so many people being inspired by other people's photos! Emily was inspired by someone else's images too!

  3. Hey Erica. Sorry it is taking me so long to get over here and comment on these! yikes...please forgive me.

Way to give these a shot! I don't really dig the first image....it is way to noisy for me. I wonder if you could have dropped the ISO to help with that. The last two are great. I love the composition in both....I think the only think I would change about the second is where the big dipper is in the frame.....but the clouds at the bottom are perfect. The last image is my favorite! It is really great and I love the color you got in the sky! Great job this week. I hope you try it again too. I would love to see more attempts and see what else you could capture.
