Mine this week don't really go together as a series. I just filled in the blanks, but here they are!

I love.....

I want...

I wish...

...that I found more time to practice my guitar.

  1. ooo...I really really love the last photo! What vibrant colours! And the fact that the guitar is behind a box emphasizes your point rather well.

  2. I absolutely LOVE your first photo. I can feel the movement of the water, the gentle breeze, the sand. I can hear the water lapping and the birds from far away. I love the sunset. Great job capturing that moment!

  3. It's a sun rise. My mom thought the same thing. I guess I must not have been an early riser when we lived together. :-) My mom also assumed that it was a sun set because she couldn't picture me getting up in time for the sunrise.

  4. I am rarely up for sunrise unless I am still awake from the night before, so I see where the sunset assumption comes from...
What you want and wish for are awesome, I hope you can teach in a school where you can teach about Jesus, and also find time to learn how to play guitar. But my favorite picture is the first one, it is beautiful, I feel relaxed looking at it.

  5. I am also totally fascinated by clouds, especially morning clouds over the lake.
P.S. I never questioned the sunrise aspect; from Milwaukee the sun does not set over the lake.:)
The quality of the light is also a giveaway. LOVE it!
Third one tells the whole story about lack of time. Keep the dream, though. It may still happen.

  7. I think it is alright that these don't go together. The first two are very direct and to the point for me. I wonder if there is a way to tell your story better on the second one...opening a childrens work book with some illustrations and text about jesus instead. I might have known without explanation what you were getting at? hmmmmm. the third one might be just a matter of personal taste. I find the clutter distracting. I personally think that a solitary guitar pic might have been more emotional and lonely looking. So the third one doesn't do it for me I guess. Overall I think they are nice and of course the first one is great cuz it is naturally beautiful. Thanks for sharing this week. :)

  9. Hi Erica! I'm back for a more thorough critique.

1.) I really like the concept of this photo. The movement of the clouds really add to the composition of this picture. The are so pretty! I almost wish that there was a little more contrast in the sky...The sense of light falling on the water is just beautiful. Good use of the rule of thirds! I you had had less sky this picture would not have worked so well.

2.) I hear you on this one. LOVE LOVE LOVE that you put the Bible in between all sorts of text books. We got to see a little more serious side of you this week.

3.) This is my favorite photo this week Erica! I know I said it already in my first comment, but I just love how the guitar is blocked. It reiterates your sentiment. The colours in this picture are just stunning! You may not have done this on purpose, but it really helps that the crate on the left is the same colour as the bin on the right...it creates a nice balance. WE can see almost the same colour reflected in the mirror beside the guitar. Those little details make a HUGE difference!

    Great Job!
